Carsten Knobel to become new Henkel CFO mid-2012 

Effective July 1, 2012, Carsten Knobel (42), Corporate Senior Vice President and Financial Director of Henkel´s Cosmetics/Toiletries business and responsible for Corporate Controlling, will succeed Lothar Steinebach (63) as Chief Financial Officer of Henkel. Steinebach will retire end of June 2012 after more than 30 years with Henkel in a number leading positions and serving since 2003 on the Management Board as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.

The World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) ranked Henkel in the top category of its global Palm Oil Buyers´ Scorecard 2011, awarding the company the maximum score of nine points. Henkel announces price increase for industrial adhesives  

Against the background of rising raw material costs, and with immediate effect, Henkel is implementing a price increase for certain product groups of its industrial adhesives.  Increase amounts will vary based on market segment and technology.  On average, the price increases will range from 10 to 25 percent.

Henkel Corporation has reformulated and reintroduced Loctite® 243™ Threadlocker to withstand temperatures up to 360°F, cure consistently without primers, and tolerate contamination from thread lubrication, anti-corrosion and protection fluids. Designed for locking and sealing fasteners that may need to be disassembled during their service life, this anaerobic threadlocker now provides enhanced performance on both active and passive metal surfaces including steel, stainless steel, and plated materials.

Maryland's Orchard Grove Elementary School Wins $25,000 in the Henkel Helps Get Kids Fit Contest  

Inspired by the rallying cry of its young students – “If you build it, we will run!” – Orchard Grove Elementary School in Frederick, Maryland has won the Henkel Helps Get Kids Fit contest and its $25,000 Grand Prize. The school intends to use the $25,000 prize to install a paved running track that will empower the school’s staff and student body to expand its already popular running program and integrate the track into additional activities for the school and community.
