Henkel Names Joe DeBiase Senior Vice President of General Industry Business 

Henkel Corporation has named Joseph D. DeBiase Senior Vice President of its North American General Industry business at its Rocky Hill, Conn. headquarters.  DeBiase will lead Henkel’s General Industry business in the U.S. and Canada, which provides adhesives, sealants, lubricants, coatings, dispensing and curing equipment, and metal pretreatments to a wide variety of industrial markets for assembly, surface treatment and maintenance repair.  The business’ brand names include Loctite®, Hysol®, Bonderite®, Frekote®, and Teroson®.

Jan-Dirk Auris to succeed Thomas Geitner at Henkel Management Board 

Thomas Geitner (55), Executive Vice President Adhesive Technologies and member of the Management Board, will resign from office effective December 31, 2010 for personal reasons. Jan-Dirk Auris (42), currently Senior Vice President Adhesive Technologies as well as President of Henkel in the Asia-Pacific region, has been appointed as his successor effective January 1, 2011.

Henkel has donated $5,000 to the Capuchin Soup Kitchen to help feed the hungry during the holidays. In lieu of the annual certificates given to employees to purchase turkeys, Henkel employees chose to donate funds from the program to the community organization.

Loctite® 4310™ and Loctite® 4311™ Flashcure® Light Cure Instant Adhesives cure tack-free in just two to five seconds upon exposure to low-intensity UV/visible light. Henkel Holds Science Fair at Washington Elementary School in Phoenix  

Fourth grade students at Washington Elementary School in Phoenix recently conducted hands-on experiments with scientists from Henkel Consumer Goods Inc. in Scottsdale.  About 25 employees from Henkel’s research and development department visited the school on October 21 to hold a science fair and show the students real-life examples of how they interact with science every day.

Four World Records Shattered at Loctite® Land Speed Shoot-out on Bonneville Salt Flats 

Under the hot Utah sun at the Bonneville Salt Flats this September, four racing teams shattered standing world land speed records, using streamlined cars and motorcycles that traveled at speeds of 280 to over 400 mph.  At the end of the five-day racing flight, which took place September 20 through 24, even a record standing for 45 years had been broken.

Henkel Volunteers Join AmeriCares to Provide Home Repairs  

On Saturday, May 1, a group of 25 volunteers from Henkel Corporation will roll up their sleeves and grab their paintbrushes, hammers, and power tools to make repairs to the home of a family in need as part of the AmeriCares HomeFront program.  The volunteers will be replacing windows and doors, painting, and doing yard work and landscaping at the home located at 176 Sisson Street in East Hartford.  In addition to the volunteer support, Henkel has made a $7,000 donation to AmeriCares for the purchase of materials and supplies for the project.

Henkel Partners with Local Schools to Help Haiti 

Henkel Corporation teamed with metro Detroit schools, Marian and Brother Rice High Schools, in their collection efforts for the survivors of the Haiti earthquake. Henkel brightens the season for the Village for Families & Children 

Henkel helped make the holiday season a bit brighter for the children of the Village for Families & Children, Inc., a Hartford-based non-profit human services agency.
