The Dial Corporation, a subsidiary of the Henkel Group, based in Dusseldorf, Germany, recently concluded their Partners in Innovation "Submit and Win" Sweepstakes. Three inventors were randomly selected from all of the qualified submissions and will each receive $1,000.

The Partners in Innovation "Submit and Win" Sweepstakes was held in August, 2005 concurrent with National Inventors' Month(R) and through September 2005. Independent inventors were invited to submit inventions that were patented or that had been described in a published patent application. If the entry met the submission requirements, it was entered in a sweepstakes drawing for a chance to win $1,000. Three winners were selected at random in October 2005 and each received $1,000 in cash. The three winners were: E. Caelson from Delmont, PA (Disposable Glove-submission), K. Colburn from Renton, WA (Personal Smoke Repeller-submission), and M. Taite from Fort Worth, TX (Scented Air Filter-submission).

In 2004, Dial initiated the "Quest for the Best" new product search, which leveraged the contributions of the independent inventor community. By holding the "Submit and Win" Sweepstakes, Dial continued to draw on the innovative ideas and creativity of outside inventors. "Dial is very pleased to recognize these three inventors who were the lucky winners in the 'Submit and Win' Sweepstakes," said Debra A. Park, Ph.D., Director, Technology Acquisition. "We hope other inventors will be encouraged to submit their inventions to Dial for consideration."
