Henkel Announces Sponsorship of 2005 Luge World Championships

Henkel in North America announced today its sponsorship of the 38th Luge World Championships. The competition features the best luge athletes from around the world, competing on the 2002 Olympic course in Park City, Utah.
Düsseldorf, Germany/Gulph Mills, Penn., February 16, 2005 - - Henkel in North America announced today its sponsorship of the 38th Luge World Championships. The competition features the best luge athletes from around the world, competing on the 2002 Olympic course in Park City, Utah.

Luge is the Fastest Sport on Ice® with speeds over 90 miles per hour and competitors racing to the single-thousandth of a second. The Luge World Championship, which runs from February 18 - February 20, is the most significant luge event outside the Olympic Games, and the last big competition before the 2006 winter games in Torino, Italy. The three-day competition will feature four disciplines: men's singles, women's singles, doubles, and the team competition. An estimated 27 nations will be represented during the competition.

Henkel's sponsorship efforts will be seen widely around the world, including in its native Germany where the Championships will be broadcast on the German TV network ARD.
