Surgical Knives/Scalpels
Henkel medical device adhesives are ideal assembly aids for surgical knives and scalpels.  With the transition to disposable versions of such instruments, combinations of materials have been employed ranging from traditional stainless steel for the blades to a variety of plastics for the handles.  Loctite® brand instant adhesives are the optimum choice for the assembly of dissimilar materials, offering high bond strengths, rapid assembly times and sterilization resistance.  A range of viscosity variations are available to accommodate most assembly requirements including filling gaps up to 0.010”.  Epoxy formulations are also available and offer the added benefit of high chemical and temperature resistance – ideal for repeated sterilization exposure.
