Angela E. Curley, Manager of Corporate Diversity and Inclusion at Henkel, has been honored as the first corporate executive recipient of the Positively Powerful Women Award. Curley was recognized for her work on Henkel’s diversity initiatives and her leadership reflected in her board memberships of non-profit organizations. The award was presented at a luncheon on May 21 at the Phoenix Ritz-Carlton.
Curley manages Henkel’s diversity and inclusion programs in North America and also serves as the liaison for Henkel’s employee resource groups. She is the coordinator of Henkel’s first Corporate Council for Diversity and Inclusion. Under her leadership, Henkel was recognized by the Arizona Society of Human Resource Management as Corporation of the Year in 2009.
Curley joined the company in 1998 (then known as The Dial Corporation) and served two terms as president of Dial’s African-American Forum, treasurer and steering committee member of the Professional Women’s Forum, and was appointed to Dial’s Executive Diversity Leadership Team. In 2007, she received Dial’s Reaching for Greatness Award, the highest individual contributor award at the company.
Curley is on the board of directors for the Greater Phoenix Black Chamber of Commerce, was recognized as a 2008 Athena Award nominee, serves as co-chair of the Valley of the Sun United Way Investment Leadership Committee, and is on the board of directors of the Diversity Leadership Alliance.
