At the 2008 SDA (Soap and Detergent Association) Annual Meeting and Industry Convention, January 29 to February 2, 2008 in Boca Raton, Florida, Henkel’s Laundry & Home Care business sector awarded prizes to two outstanding suppliers.
The “Best Innovation Contributor 2007” goes to Clariant for the best contribution of an external partner delivering outstanding consumer-relevant innovation that resulted in a product of highest market value. The “Best Supply Performance 2007” is awarded to Evonik Degussa for its outstanding supply performance.
“We are very happy to award the prize for the ‘Best Innovation Contributor 2007’ to our long-term business partner Clariant. Due to excellent suppliers who help us by delivering innovative chemistry, we are able to continuously market new breakthrough innovations by which we constantly maintain and enlarge our leading global positions in our relevant markets”, explained Thomas Müller-Kirschbaum, Senior Vice President for R&D, Technology and Supply Chain within Henkel’s Laundry & Home Care business sector.
As a result of Henkel’s decision to involve Clariant at an early stage, the collaboration was extremely successful. It resulted in a unique and exclusive stain-dissolving booster, which was incorporated into Henkel's premium laundry detergents by using a new technology process. This resulted in a superior formulation for Persil, Henkel’s leading detergent brand in Europe.
Because measuring supply performance is very important to improving processes, Henkel also awards a prize for supply performance. Among the many companies that reliably supply Henkel every day, Evonik Degussa was awarded the prize “Best Supply Performance 2007”.
