Rocky Hill, Conn. - September 19, 2006… Henkel Corporation has expanded its line of Loctite® Nordbak® Wear Resistant Coatings, products designed to protect the surface of industrial equipment from wear, abrasion, corrosion, erosion, and chemical attack.

Loctite® Nordbak® Wear Resistant Coatings act as a sacrificial and renewable working surface and protect the structural integrity of handling equipment, pumps, hoppers, housings, tanks, and other equipment. The newest products in the line include a Thin Mil Brushable Ceramic Coating and a Low Odor Wearing Compound.

The new Loctite® Nordbak® Thin Mil Brushable Ceramic Protective Coating can be drawn to half the consistency of standard smooth ceramic products for applications with tight tolerances. This high gloss, low friction coating protects against liquid/slurry turbulence, sliding abrasion and cavitation. Available in three distinct colors, the product can be applied in layers for use as a wear indicator.

Particularly suited for applications where ventilation may be limited, the Loctite® Nordbak® Low Odor Wearing Compound protects against coarse and large particle abrasion in high wear areas with service temperatures up to 250ºF. This non-sagging coating can be applied by trowel onto overhead and irregular surfaces.

Other Loctite® Nordbak® Wear Resistant Coatings include beaded products that protect from abrasion, erosion and corrosion; smooth ceramic coatings that protect from corrosion and wear; and epoxy putties for rebuilding, restoring and sealing. Coatings may be applied by trowel, brush or pressure spray, and are available for extreme temperature and high impact environments.
