Henkel Corporation has introduced two new Loctite® threadlockers formulated to withstand consistent operating temperatures up to 360°F.   Curing consistently and thoroughly without cleaning, these new products tolerate the oils and lubricants typically found on “as received” threaded fasteners. These products will also cure on plated, aluminum, stainless and chromated fasteners without primers.

Henkel Corporation has introduced the Loctite® LED Flood System, a   self-contained, air-cooled assembly designed to cure Loctite® UV/Visible cure adhesives.  The system delivers a curing area of 100 x 100 mm at intensities of up to 600 mW/cm2, depending on the wavelength selected.  Unlike traditional arc lamps, this LED system has a significantly longer life, negligible intensity decay, and no infrared emissions that can overheat parts.

Henkel Corporation, a technology leader in adhesives and coatings for flexible packaging, announces the latest advance in solventless laminating adhesive: Liofol® LA7724-21 with UR6020 Hardener. 

Henkel Corporation teamed with metro Detroit schools, Marian and Brother Rice High Schools, in their collection efforts for the survivors of the Haiti earthquake. In their efforts, students and Henkel employees collected 2,000 pounds of supplies, including items such as baby products, water, non-perishable foods and medical supplies. Henkel covered the cost of shipping the items, which will be sent to and distributed by the charitable organization Project Haiti.

Henkel Consumer Goods Canada will showcase its innovative new Purex® Complete 3-in-1™ laundry sheets at the National Home Show at the Direct Energy Centre in Toronto from February 19-28, 2010.   Purex is also the online ticket discount sponsor for the home show and is offering visitors the opportunity to save $3 off adult admission by buying their tickets online.

Henkel presented the Fritz Henkel Award for Innovation today to three groundbreaking products: Purex Complete 3-in-1 Laundry Sheets, Essential Color and Essensity hair coloring, and Technomelt Supra and Coolmelt packaging adhesives.  The award, which has been presented annually since 1982, is named after Henkel’s founder and is given to projects that represent a high degree of innovation and proven success in the market.

Thunderbird School of Global Management and Henkel Consumer Goods Inc., are teaming up in “Innovation & Creativity,” a new Spring 2010 course that provides a blended opportunity for Thunderbird students to learn innovation and adaptability concepts in a fast-changing environment via business industry guest speakers, case studies, benchmarking and a real-world capstone project for Henkel’s laundry care business unit. Henkel is the name behind leading brands such as Purex® laundry detergents, Dial® soaps, Right Guard® antiperspirants and 20 Mule Team™ Borax all natural laundry booster.

At the 2010 Soap and Detergent Association (SDA) Annual Meeting and Industry Convention, January 26 – 30, in Orlando, Florida, Henkel Laundry & Home Care awarded two prizes. The “Best Innovation Contributor 2009” went to Cognis for the best contribution of an external partner delivering outstanding consumer-relevant innovation. The “Best Supply Performance 2009” was conferred to Sasol for its outstanding operational supply performance.

Henkel Corporation’s Industrial Adhesives business sponsored the company’s first Sustainable Supplier Symposium on January 21, 2010.  Designed to “spark the seeds of sustainable innovation” among members of Henkel’s product development team, the symposium featured meetings and exhibits by a select group of suppliers who pursue sustainability in creative, innovative ways. 

Henkel Consumer Goods Inc. will host the Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) Career Connections Network at its Scottsdale headquarters on January 13-14, 2010.  The meeting will bring together 40 human resources professionals from SIFE partner companies for workshops and panel discussions on recruiting college students through the SIFE program.

For use on threaded stainless steel pipes and fittings found in high temperature environments such as nuclear facilities, Henkel Corporation has introduced Loctite® 5802™ PST® High Purity Thread Sealant.   Formulated to meet nuclear green limit requirements, this product is low in impurities such as halogens, sulfur and low-melting-point metals which can be harmful to metal pipes. 

Sustainability is fundamental to Henkel’s business DNA. However, affirmation of this through specific forms of recognition from industrial and retail customers is as important as it is gratifying. Three times in 2009, Henkel’s ‘Year of the Customer,’ major international business partners awarded the company for special contributions made to their own efforts in the sustainability domain.

Henkel helped make the holiday season a bit brighter for the children of the Village for Families & Children, Inc., a Hartford-based non-profit human services agency. Henkel, headquartered in Rocky Hill, Conn., purchased new coats, hats, and mittens for 45 children of the Village. Henkel also gave each child a toy and provided the food for the Village’s December 18 holiday party.
